TOPONYMIC COMPONENTS IN PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS: A CULTURALLINGUISTIC COMPARISON OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This article analyzes phraseological units with a toponym component in English and Uzbek from a linguocultural point of view. During the study, the cultural and spiritual content of toponyms in phraseological units, their role in expressing national identity, and their place in the national thought and historical memory are revealed. The article provides a comparative analysis of the semantic and pragmatic features of toponymic phraseologisms in English and Uzbek, highlighting their functional load in the process of communication. Also, through these units, the relationship between language and culture, the process of formation of national mentality and linguocultural images are revealed. The results show the theoretical and practical significance of research conducted at the intersection of linguocultural, phraseological, and toponymic in linguistics.
