The article deals with Oscar Wilde’s literary principles as a representative of English Aesthetic movement, his style and approach to the problems of beauty and morality. The author of the articles analyses Uzbek translations of Wilde’s novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and fairy-tales comparing them with the original versions and tries to define the level of their fidelity to the style of the original.
