The development of communicative competence has become one of the primary objectives of English language teaching in modern education. Traditional language teaching methods often emphasize grammatical accuracy and vocabulary memorization, which may not adequately prepare learners for real-life communication. Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) has emerged as an effective approach that focuses on meaningful language use through authentic tasks. This article explores the role of TBLT in developing learners’ communicative competence, discusses its theoretical foundations, key principles, and practical applications, and highlights its benefits and challenges in English language classrooms
