Abstract

The article analyzes trends in the “green” economic development of the global system, as well as prospects for Uzbekistan’s transition to a “green” economy. It examines the nature of the shift from the traditional economic development model to a “green” economy model, the development of environmentally friendly technologies, issues of integrated natural resource management. The article explores the interplay between the economy and the environment, specifically the link between economic growth and rising pollution and environmental degradation. It presents a systems analysis comparing the concept of the “green” economy with various aspects of the classical understanding of socio-economic formations. The authors propose the idea that the transition to a “green” economy is not merely the adoption of new resource-efficient and eco-friendly technologies within the existing economic system, but a global societal transformation—essentially a transition to a new socio-economic formation.
