Abstract

This article investigates the features of temporal reference realization in narrative discourse in English and Uzbek from a comparative perspective. The main objective of the study is to identify the functional characteristics of grammatical, lexical, and discourse-based means used to express temporal relations in narrative and event-based texts. The research analyzes the tense system in English, tense forms in Uzbek, temporal markers, time expressions, and the mechanisms of organizing narrative time.
